Obituary of Nancy Jane McCarthy-Smith

Nancy Jane McCarthy-Smith, age 75, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Saturday morning, February 7, 2015 at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will be at a later date in Pioneer Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Thursday at the funeral home. Nancy was born January 15, 1940 to William H. and Dora (Westover) McCarthy in Wisconsin Rapids. She worked as a line worker at Ore-Ida Foods until her retirement. Nancy loved to crochet, do puzzle books, and watch Western's. She was also a huge Elvis Presley fan. Nancy is survived by three grandchildren: David Clay, Patrick (Krystal Bruhn) Clay, and William "Billy" Clay; three great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Ihrcke, Brooklynn Bruhn, and Patrick Clay Jr.; three sisters: Donna McCarthy, Beverly Kedrowski and Thea (Tom) Provost all of Wisconsin Rapids; three brothers: William (Karen) McCarthy Jr. of Vesper, Dennis McCarthy of King and Ronald (Donna) McCarthy of Nekoosa; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, David Smith; daughter, Bridget Penworth; three sisters: Neoma Bruner, Marlene "Chuckie" McCarthy, and Phyllis McCarthy; and one brother, Timothy McCarthy.
