Obituary of Orin Hastings
Orin "Bill" Hastings, age 92, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Stawberry Lane Rehabilitation Center in Wisconsin Rapids.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 16, 2015 at First English Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Chuck Tews will officiate. Burial will be held at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at the church.
Orin was born on December 2, 1922 to Guy and Stella (Herod) Hastings in Bakersfield, California. Orin graduated in 1940 from Kern County Union High School in Bakersfield, California. Orin entered into the United States Army on June 10, 1942 until 1954. He served in the South Pacific during WWII and Alaska during the Korean War. Orin was united in marriage to Anina Lundgren on November 24, 1954; she passed away on July 29, 2007. He was employed by Consolidated Papers Inc. Biron Division for 31 years, before retiring in 1985.
Orin was a member in the American Legion post #9. He was an active member of the First English Lutheran Church where he served in many ways. He was a member of the Equitable Reserve Association #30 and the Sons of Norway.
Orin is survived by his nieces and nephews as well as his good friend Ann Porps.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Anina, three brothers and four sisters.
