Obituary of Mildred J. Verjinski

Mildred "Millie" J. Verjinski, age 93, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Sunday morning, March 1, 2015 at Harmony Assisted Living in Wisconsin Rapids. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Paul Tonn and Rev. Timothy Wenger will officiate. Burial will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. and at St. Luke's on Thursday at 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Mildred was born June 1, 1921 in Auburndale, WI to Meinard and Katherine (Speich) Marti. Mildred attended Clover Nook School in the Town of Arpin and high school in Auburndale. She married William "Art" Verjinski, on June 21, 1947 in Wisconsin Rapids. They were united in marriage for 42 years; William passed away in 1989. She worked at the Mead Inn for 27 years, until retiring as the head housekeeper in 1986. Mildred was a hard worker. She spent time collecting stamps and coins. She loved gardening, baking, and cooking. Mildred was a founding member of St. Luke's, as well as a past member of the Anna Circle. Mildred is survived by two daughters: Dianne (Patrick) Sullivan, and Patsy (James) St. Martin, both of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; four grandchildren: Shelley (Chadd) Krueger of Oshkosh, WI, Holly Sullivan (Robert Rexrode) of San Diego, CA, Todd (Dietrie) St. Martin of Oregon, WI, and Chris St. Martin of Milwaukee, WI; great-grandchildren: Jake and Cole Krueger, William and Edward Rexrode, Amari and Dominic St. Martin. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Art, infant daughter Barbara; brothers: William, Matt, Jake, and Otto and sisters: Eva, Ella, and Mary.
