Obituary of Curtis R. Carlson

Curtis R. Carlson, age 55, of Menasha, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday March 22, 2015 at his residence. A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Curtis was born on August 11, 1959 in Wisconsin Rapids to Donald and Charlotte (Henke) Carlson. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1978. Curtis attended Mid-State Technical College and graduated in 1981 with a degree in accounting. He worked at Neenah's City Hall in the finance department until his health no longer permitted him to work. Curtis enjoyed oil painting and painting ceramics. He liked to play cards especially cribbage and Sheepshead; he participated in cribbage tournaments. Curtis is survived by his mother Charlotte of Wisconsin Rapids, sister, Cynthia Hampton and her son Andrew (Kelly) Steffan of Appleton, WI; sister, Cathleen (Roger) Plowman and their children: Emily (David Babcock) Plowman of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Haley (Ryan) O'Connor of Pittsville, WI, and Cole Plowman of Plover, WI ; sister, Charmaine (Michael) Mancl of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, and their children: Tyler Mancl of Nekoosa, WI, Elizabeth (Justin) Armagost of Vesper, WI, as well as many great nieces and great nephews. Curtis is preceded in death by his father Donald, his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorials may be designated to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
