Obituary of James Christopher Binnebose

James Christopher Binnebose, age 52, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away early Sunday morning, March 22, 2015 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home. The family will greet relatives and friends from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Jim was born January 26, 1963 in Wisconsin Rapids to William and Emma (Rittenhouse) Binnebose. He married Deb Kopelke on November 25, 1999. Jim worked at several different automotive and motorcycle repair shops in the Wisconsin Rapids area over the years. He was a Harley-Davidson motorcycle owner and enthusiast and loved working on his 1943 Knucklehead which he rebuilt and painted several times over the years. Jim was a retired member of the Knucklehead Company Motorcycle Club. Jim was also very involved in ski jumping. He and his family traveled all over the country participating in ski jumping tournaments. He was an accomplished ski jumper, participating successfully in both national and international levels. Jim really loved to have a good time. He enjoyed getting family and friends together for feasts of ribs, chicken and pulled pork that he would cook on several grills at a time. He also enjoyed listening to music and relaxing in the pool. Jim is survived by his wife, Deb of Wisconsin Rapids; one daughter, Jessie (James) Haggerty of Onalaska; three grandchildren: Trevor Binnebose and Emma and Jonah Haggerty; one step-son, Greg Kopelke of Wisconsin Rapids and his son, Layne; three brothers: William (Jane) Binnebose III of La Crosse and Alan (Carmen) Binnebose and Paul (Linda) Binnebose, both of Wisconsin Rapids; one sister, Betty Jean Lewis of La Crosse; many nieces and nephews; and his special little dog Lucy. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Shannon Binnebose, and a nephew, Edward Lewis Jr.
