Obituary of Belva Joy Bloomfield
Belva Joy Bloomfield, age 72 of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Wisconsin Rapids Care Center.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. John Grohs will officiate. Burial will be at Pioneer Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 1 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.
Belva was born on December 10, 1942 to Emil and Ruth (Jensen) Kruger in Wisconsin Rapids. She was united in marriage to Arthur Bloomfield on October 19, 1968 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids; they were blessed with 27 years of marriage before he passed away on April 27, 1995. In her younger years Belva worked on the family farm. She worked at Preway from 1962 to 1973;during that time she was a factory worker, a mail route driver as well as an O.B.M. Belva also babysat for a few years. After Arthurs passing Belva cleaned houses until her retirement.
In the late 1960's, Belva and Arthur were members of the Kellner Knights snowmobiling club. She was a devoted mother who always made time to go to her son's baseball games and school activities. Belva loved to go league bowling; she participated for many years doing Sunday couple's bowling with Arthur and Tuesday and Thursday bowling with her girlfriends. Belva loved to be outdoors helping with the harvesting of firewood, raking the yard in the fall and planting her garden in the spring. She loved to can pickles at the end of season. Belva's favorite things were the color purple, owls, ironing a freshly cleaned load of laundry and watching her birds in the feeders outside of her bay window. She loved her cats and other pets. Belva enjoyed going to the local race tracks with her friends and family.
Belva is survived by her sons Todd Bloomfield and Troy Bloomfield both of Wisconsin Rapids, siblings: Harvey (Judith) Kruger, Karla Fredrickson, Arvid "Butch" (Marlene) Kruger all of Wisconsin Rapids, and brother-in-law Byron Bloomfield of Nekoosa and sister-in-law Mary Huber, as well as seven nephews and four nieces and special friend Sandy Primeau.
