Obituary of Karen A. Lamb
Karen A. Lamb, age 81, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Friday May 8, 2015 at Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.
Services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Forest Hill Mausoleum in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Marty Nolet will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the Mausoleum. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Karen A. Lamb was born on March 28, 1934 to Wolcott and Gertrude (Huchthausen) Riley in Wisconsin Rapids. She married Darwin Lamb in Wisconsin Rapids on August 30, 1952; they were blessed with two sons. Karen worked for 27 years as an aide in exceptional education retiring in 1996.
Karen was a very active member of the community and the United Methodist Church. She was a superintendent and a director for Christian Education, and was a church school teacher for 25 years. Karen volunteered at Headstart and in Carol Bart's Kindergarten class. She served on the board of Two Mile, Grove and Woodside PTA and also served as president. Karen planned and worked at Vacation bible school, served on the district education committee, served on the evangelism committee as well as nomination and personal committee. She was an avid reader. Karen sang in the choir and played in the bell choir. Karen enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Karen was a great wife and mother. She freely gave her time and money. She made sure that family members and friends knew she cared and sent out many cards for various occasions every month.
Karen is survived by her husband Darwin, her sons Brent Lamb of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Mark (Lonelee) Lamb of Wisconsin Rapids,WI; grandchildren: Rebecca Lamb of Baldwin, WI and Lucas (Anna) Lamb of Marshfield, WI; great-grandchildren: Casna Edward Lamb of Marshfield, WI; siblings: Shirley (Wayne) Sering of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Jim (Mary Lou) Riley of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Jean (Nick) Glebke of Eau Claire, WI, as well as her special friends: The Lasssas, The Larsons and Karla.
She is preceded in death by her father Wolcott and mother Gertrude, father-in-law Edward and mother-in-law Ethel.
