Obituary of Shawn J. Kelley
Shawn J. Kelley, age 44, of Nekoosa, passed away unexpectedly Thursday May 21, 2015.
Services will be at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday May 26, 2015 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday May 25, 2015 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Shawn was born on September 17, 1970 to James and Ida "Lillian" (Clarke) Kelley in Wisconsin Rapids. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1989. Shawn attended UTI Chicago and graduated with a degree in Diesel Mechanics. He married Barbara Wilson on September 28, 2002 in the Town of Rome. Shawn was employed as a lineman for Solarus since 1997.
Shawn was a wonderful husband, step-father and step-grandfather. He was a very giving man who enjoyed helping others in need. Shawn enjoyed spending as much time as possible outdoors whether winter or summer he was outside hunting, boating, camping, snowmobiling or riding motorcycles. Shawn loved to cook especially any wild game that was caught on his hunting trips. He was a racecar driver for several years. Shawn could fix almost anything and liked to work on cars. Shawn had a fondness for animals and over the years had many pets. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, taking trips to Newfoundland, Canada to visit family and to beaches throughout the Caribbean.
Shawn is survived by his wife Barbara, his mother Ida "Lillian" Kelley of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; step-children: Dustin Fontenelle and Coral Wilson, step-grandson Aden Wessel; brothers: Leonard (Deb) Kelley of Wild Rose, WI, Harold (Tami) Kelley of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, three nephews: Dylan, Cody and Chris and two nieces: Ashley and Vanessa; four sisters-in-law: Carol Calkins, Ruth Wilson, Joan Wilson and Karen Wilson; brother -in-law Kenneth Wilson, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father James; grandparents: Leonard and Ollie Clarke, Harold and Irene Kelley; in-laws Marion and Earl Wilson and brother-in-law Clifford Wilson.
