Obituary of Velma Emelia Henrietta Gleisner
Velma Emelia Henrietta Gleisner, age 103, of Vesper, child of God went home to be with her Heavenly Father, Lord and Savior when he called on Wednesday morning May 27, 2015.
Velma was born November 22, 1911 in Pittsville. She was the third child of Max and Elise (Worth) Schiller. She married Elmer Gleisner of Vesper in Milwaukee. They lived in Milwaukee until her husband Elmer's demise March 25, 1989 when Velma made her home in Vesper.
Velma worked in the Schlitz Concession at the Miller baseball park in Milwaukee for many years. She loved to cook, play cards, and play bingo. She will be best remembered for her excellent cooking. If you visited her she always served a meal.
Velma is survived by one brother Ronald Schiller; four sisters-in-law: Jean (Otto) Schiller of Vesper, WI, Chloe (Gordon) Schiller of Marshfield, WI, Nancy (Willis) Schiller, and Doris (Marvin) Schiller both of Waukesha, WI, 25 nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends.
Velma was preceded in death by her husband Elmer, parents Max and Elise Schiller, sisters: Leona Schiller, Frieda Truchinski of Pittsville, WI, Esthor Yoss of Baraboo, WI, Elise Yoss of Vesper, WI, Dorothy Tyler of Vesper, WI, Evelyn Walker of Batterfield, CA; brothers: Wilbert Schiller of Pittsville, WI, infant brother, Otto and Carl Schiller of Vesper, WI, Gordon Schiller of Marshfield, WI, Marvin and Willis Schiller of Waukesha, WI.
Velma was the matriarch of the family. She left a lot of memories and will be greatly missed. Special thanks for Delores Guden.
Herman- Taylor Funeral Home is assisting the family. There will be no services. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
