Obituary of Arlene Arneson

Arlene Arneson, age 82, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away early Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Wisconsin Rapids. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at First English Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev Joyce Heintz will officiate. Burial will be held at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services on Thursday at the church. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is assisting the family. Arlene was born January 11, 1933 in rural Ettrick, WI to Aldin and Josie Olson. She grew up on the family farm and attended elementary school there and was brought up in the Lutheran faith. She graduated from Gale-Ettrick High School class of 1952. On September 30, 1954 she married Donald Arneson; they were blessed with 60 years of marriage. In 1957 they moved to Wisconsin Rapids. For 22 years she was employed by the Wisconsin Rapids Board of Education in the Food Service Program and was a member of the Union Local 1075. In her youth Arlene enjoyed playing softball, dancing and bicycling. Arlene was a member of the First English Lutheran Church. She was an excellent quilter who over the years made many quilts for family, friends, and charity. Her first love was her home, family and friends. Arlene and Don were members of several snowmobile groups, motorcycle clubs and Police Wives. She was a staunch supporter of the Green Bay Packers and Brewers. She enjoyed spending time outside with nature. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and her beloved dog Bella. Arlene is survived by her husband Don; three sons: Steve (Shelby) Arneson, Scott (Gail) Arneson and Jeffery Arneson; grandchildren: Jason, Travis and Wesley; great-grandchildren: Lyric, Justin, Eric, Matt, Dawson, Phoenix and Bostyn; step- grandchildren: Amanda Walter, Troy Walter, Weston Kinney and Meghan Trierweiler; step-great grandchild Nolan; as well as many other friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents.
