Obituary of Doris Ann Berg

Doris Ann Berg, age 96, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Wisconsin Rapids. Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. John Grohs will officiate. Entombment will be at the Forest Hill Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until the time of services at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Doris was born February 23, 1919 in Ettrick, WI to Henry and Pearl (Ferguson) Kroll. She married Gordon Berg in Wisconsin Rapids on June 4, 1939. They were blessed with 52 years of marriage. Gordon died on December 30, 1991. Doris was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church since the age of 10, where she graduated from the eighth grade before attending and graduating from Lincoln High School. Doris was a member of Ladies Aid and President of the Golden Age Club. She also served as a member of the missionary committee for the church. Doris worked at the local J.C. Penny's store for 39 years as the Stock Room Supervisor. She was later active in the 292 Club of Penny's retirees and Lowell Center Senior Citizens. She was a big Packer fan and thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She was filled with love and prayer for her family. Doris is survived by her daughters: Cheri (Herb) Weiss and Marti (Dan) Schiestle; sisters: Joyce LaFrance and Bette (Jim) Rasmussen; grandchildren: Troy Weiss, Trish (Tom) Zdroik, Tama (Charlie) Drexler, Camille (Shaun) Monday, Chris (Carrie) Berg, Trent (Rochelle) Schiestle, and Jason (Jaquie) Schiestle; and great- grandchildren: DeeAnn, Cole, AJ, Alex, Abe, Angi, Alea, Danny, Christian, Cadin, Chloe, Tyler, and Tanner. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Gary Berg and two sons-in-law: Herb Weiss and Dan Schiestle and daughter-in-law: Pat Berg.
