Obituary of Diana Joan Mallek
Diana Joan Mallek, age 72, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will be at Pioneer Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. A rosary service will be held at 7:30 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.
Diana was born October 21, 1942 in Junction City, WI to Sylvester and Angeline (Roman) Robak. She graduated from Rudolph High School in 1960 and went to work at Preway in the office and worked until 1962. On October 21, 1961, Diana married Raymond Mallek in Junction City and moved to Wisconsin Rapids. They were blessed with 53 years of marriage and three children. Diana returned to work in January 1972, working for Rause Management Inc. (McDonald's) as an office manager and worked there for 36 years until her retirement.
Diana was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed playing BINGO. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never missed a Little League game. Diana loved schnauzer collectables and had a very large collection in her home.
Diana is survived by her husband, Raymond; son, Michael (Julie) Mallek and daughters, Sandra (Scott) Walker and Cheryl (Dick) Schlachter, all of Wisconsin Rapids; six grandchildren: Kristen (Jason) Otto of Hudson, WI, Robi Jo Walker of Oshkosh, WI, Jason (Amanda) Mallek of Neosho, WI, Adam Mallek of Minnetonka, MN, Kati Greeneway of Green Bay, WI, Luke Greeneway of Wisconsin Rapids, and one step-grandson, Austin (Ashley) Schlachter of Wisconsin Rapids; three great-grandchildren: Dylan Lenz and Audrey and Caroline Mallek; one brother, Stanley (Dolores) Robak; one brother-in-law, Tom Kniech; and her faithful companion, Buddy. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Virginia Kniech.
