Obituary of Deanna Mae Dhein
Deanna Mae Dhein, age 74, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away peacefully at Riverview Hospital on Friday, September 11, 2015.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner. Rev. Kevin Ader will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Herman-Taylor Funeral home and from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday at the church prior to the service. A Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary service will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. John Lutheran Parish Cemetery.
Deanna was born on August 30, 1941 in Kellner, WI to Ambrose and Della (Steinke) Valentine. She married Jerome Theis and had 3 children: Jeff, DeJae and Jeremy. Her second marriage was to Lawrence Dhein and she was later widowed.
Deanna worked in accounting for the Nekoosa-Port Edwards Paper Mill for many years. She then owned and operated the Idle-A-While Tavern with her husband Larry and continued to run the establishment until her passing. Deanna had a passion for helping others and she was very active in Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary (DAVA), Eagles Club, Tavern League and was a dedicated member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Kellner. She enjoyed playing golf, cribbage, pool, darts and horseshoes, and in her younger years she rode horses and snowmobiles.
Deanna is survived by her children: Jeffrey Theis of Wisconsin Rapids, DeLanee "DeJae" Collins of Los Angeles, CA, Jeremy Theis of Brooklyn, IA; her children of marriage: Sharon (Frank) Korslin, June Hanneman (Mike), William (Darlene) Dhein, Sr., and Dawn (Richard) Wilhelm all of Wisconsin Rapids, Pam Dhein (Rod) of Athens, WI, Laurie (Scott) Kaehn and Jodi Dhein (Mark) of Wisconsin Rapids, and Debra (Ed) Liebe of Junction City; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Roger Randrup of Waupun, WI and close friends Janice Ryman, Rita King, Leona Newman, her cat companion "Mooey" and many other friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, June Dobrinska, Beverly Randrup, and Robert Valentine, Sr. , both husbands and children, Sandy (Mike) Krzykowski and Dennis Dhein.
