Obituary of June Elousie Gilmaster

June Elousie Gilmaster, age 84, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on September 29, 2015 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital. A memorial service will be at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, October 5, 2015 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Pastor John Grohs will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 P.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. After services on Monday there will be a Celebration of Life held at June's home. A graveside committal will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 12:00 P.M. at Forest Hill Cemetery. June was born on June 25, 1931 in Wisconsin Rapids to Richard and Louise (Willenberg) Sawaska. She married Thomas Gilmaster on December 22, 1951 in Wisconsin Rapids; the couple was blessed with 57 years of marriage before Thomas passed away in 2008. June worked in the ladies department of Johnson Hills and was later employed by Schmidt's Jewelry Store as a bookkeeper for 26 years before her retirement. June was a loving wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma; she enjoyed spending time with her family. June liked playing Bridge with her lady friends and Racko with her great-grandkids. She enjoyed golfing, trap shooting, crossword puzzles and reading Portals of Prayer. June was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Immanuel Ladies Aid and the Riverview Hospital Auxiliary. June is survived by her children: Jean Gilmaster, Patti (Mike) Speich and Pam (Randy) Hetzel; grandchildren: Tommy Brise of Nekoosa, Brehon (Keith) Hoffman of Wisconsin Rapids and Emmy Speich of Milwaukee; step-grandchildren: Jennifer Hetzel of Nekoosa, and Jason (Lynn) Hetzel of Wisconsin Rapids; great-grandchildren: Easton, Avery and Piper Brise, Tarren and Kaylynn Hoffman; step-great-grandchild Grant Hetzel; sisters-in-law: Elaine (Lloyd) Tetzloff, Gladys Sawaska, and brother-in-law Art (Ruby) Gilmaster, and her beloved pet Raji. June is preceded in death by her husband Tom, her parents Richard and Louise; sisters: Marge Swanson, Marian DeBower and brothers: Fred, William and Edward Sawaska.
