Obituary of David Riley Robinson

David Riley Robinson, age 66, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 at his residence following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Valentine Joseph will officiate. Burial will be at Spring Branch Cemetery in the town of Rome. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Dave was born March 26, 1949 in Mauston, WI to Riley and Ardys (Hess) Robinson. He married Kathy Larson on June 23, 1973 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in the town of Sigel. They were blessed with 42 years of marriage. Dave served his country in the United States Army from 1969-1971. He was employed as a papermaker at New Page in the Biron Division until his retirement. Dave really loved coaching his children's softball and baseball teams while they were growing up and spending time camping at Lac Vieux Desert near Land O' Lakes, WI. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers and enjoyed watching NASCAR races. Dave was an advocate of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Dave is survived by his wife, Kathy; two children: Eric (Sherri) Robinson of Wisconsin Rapids and Jenny (Adam) Schneider of Reeseville, WI; four grandchildren: Liley and Riley Robinson and Ellee and Jaxson Schneider; sister, Karen (Andy) Wendt of Waupaca, WI; mother-in-law, Eleanor Larson of Wisconsin Rapids; brothers-in-law: Michael (Maria) Larson and Dennis (Dawn) Larson both of Wisconsin Rapids; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Riley and Ardys Robinson and his father-in-law, Edward Larson. Online condolences may be expressed at www.taylorfuneralhome.net.
