Obituary of Arvilla Pauline Zimmerman
Arvilla Pauline Zimmerman, age 100, passed away on October 15, 2015 at Our House Assisted Living in Wisconsin Rapids.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Mary Lou Plummer will officiate. Burial will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Arvilla was born on May 13, 1915 to Fred and Marie (Brahmstedt) Knuth in Wisconsin Rapids. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1933. Arvilla went on to attend the Normal School graduating in June 1934. She married Robert Zimmerman on September 4, 1937 in Wisconsin Rapids. She was a homemaker all her life raising three sons. She lived in the same house that she and her husband built in 1937, until the age of 95. She was a lifelong active member of the Moravian Church, a volunteer at Grove School, Two Mile School and a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. Arvilla enjoyed reading, sewing and spending time with her family.
Arvilla is survived by three sons: Robert (Helen) Zimmerman of Wisconsin Rapids, Gerald (JoAnn) Zimmerman of Golden, CO and David (Rebecca) Zimmerman of Albuquerque, MN; three grandchildren: Douglas (Janna) Zimmerman of Green Bay, Dawn (Matt) Langellier of Lake Villa, IL, and Andy (Laura) Zimmerman of Colorado Springs, Co; five great-grandchildren: Matlyn, Elin, Cole, Levi, Gracelyn as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, two sisters and a brother.
The family would like to thank the staff at Our House Assisted Living on 12th St. in Wisconsin Rapids as well as Heartland Hospice Services for all of their care and concern for Arvilla.
