Obituary of Nancy Ann Habeck
Nancy Ann Habeck, age 81, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 18, 2015.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. John Grohs and Rev. Timothy Ritter will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Thursday at the church.
Nancy was born December 5, 1933 in Wisconsin Rapids to Wilber and Floy (Hirsch) Wittenberg. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. She married Elmer R. Habeck on June 12, 1954 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1999.
Nancy was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She volunteered in the school library for many years and also helped collect the lunch money. Nancy loved to read and was an avid bowler. She was fascinated by aviation and her genealogy. She also enjoyed her glass Christmas tree ornament collection that her family helped grow throughout the years.
Nancy is survived by four children: Teri Schroeder, Michael (Jane) Habeck, Tim Habeck and Jennifer Nash, all of Wisconsin Rapids; eight grandchildren: Carolyn Schroeder, Katie Schroeder, Emilie (Jared) Slabosheski, Matthew Watson, Josh Habeck, Lacie Huber, Graham and Kinsey Nash; great-grandchild, Rylee Habeck; sister-in-law, Audrey Wittenberg of Wisconsin Rapids; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and LaVerne Habeck of Wisconsin Rapids. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Lisa at birth, sister Judy Schmick, and brother David Wittenberg.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ho for his excellent care and Heartland Hospice. They would also like to thank her care workers Deb Arneson and Deb Bettack for all their care. The family would also like to thank Dennis Martin from church for all his spiritual visits.
